A free pool games guide that contained every type of billiards game would be a great resource to have, but the reality is that there are so many types of pool games and variations within each game, that it would be nearly impossible to list them all. Usually, billiards players are familiar with the common games such as: eight ball, nine ball, and straight pool. However, there are countless other variations of the game that are fun and exciting and can keep players interested in the sport while providing new and unique challenges.

In situations where there is a larger group of people that have to share a table, games such as Cake Pool can keep all the players involved in a single game instead of taking turns as they would in standard games. Cake Pool can be played with four to six players within a single game and the addition or subtraction of points dictates the overall winner. Although this game is designed to be played with snookers equipment it can be modified for a billiards table. One of the positive aspects of this game is that there is some luck that is involved which gives weaker players a chance to win. If players don’t have access to the rules of games like cake pool, they can modify standard games into more of a challenge. Bank Pool requires that all successful shots be banked into the pocket otherwise it is a foul. Variations of games range from the easy to understand games such as Bank Pool, to complicated games such as Cowboy Billiards. In games such as Cowboy Billiards, unless the players are very familiar with the rules it is helpful to have a guide printed out to avoid any confusion.

With all the variations of billiards games that are available to players, one thing that is for certain is that players will not get bored through lack of options. And although there is no free pool games guide that contains every style of game out there, there are enough resources that when combined will keep even the most restless billiards player busy for years to come.
