Pool billiards instruction can help you improve your game. Like anything else, getting advice from an expert can be helpful and help you reach your pool playing goals. Many instructions or lessons can be found online with articles and diagrams to help make the point or short videos. There are also numerous books on the topic of pool billiards instruction that can be purchased or even checked out at your local library.

While working online or with books may help some people, other types of learners need the hands on interaction that can only come from meeting face to face with an instructor and a billiards table. The Billiards Congress of America has a program for certifying instructors. Their web site provides substantial information about becoming a certified instructor through an accredited training center or with mentorship from an advanced certified instructor. In addition, they provide a resource for finding a certified instructor in your state. Using a certified instructor will undoubtedly improve your understanding of the game, but the cost involved can be prohibitive to many players.

Online billiards gaming sites also provide some instruction for their members. While online games can help players understand the dynamics of the game, there are obvious differences between a virtual game and a real game. If you are looking to improve your real game, playing online pool can help with the transferable skills such as the geometric principles. Understanding the physics of the game that are related to friction and how hard to hit the ball in each circumstance is often simulated with online play, but will require real practice on a table to master.

One mistake many people make not only in billiards, but also in many aspects of their lives is to minimize the importance of mentorship and getting advice from others. While it is true that some people reach great success on their own, it can be a frustrating experience. Getting proper instruction can increase your enjoyment of the game.
