Looking for some used commercial pool tables may be more difficult than searching for a private pool table. Most people that want to invest in a quality used table prefer to purchase a standard table for their home. However, if a person is interested in starting a business such as a bar or pool hall than a commercial pool table may be the best solution. All though there are many styles of pool tables throughout many nations, commercial pool tables, for the most part, are coin operated or built to different specifications.

In most cases, commercial pool tables are built a little larger than personal home tables. They still have the same dimensions as all tables but they usually measure eight feet long by four feet wide. The whole concepts of purchasing a commercial pool table is to buy a table that will be able to stand up the high demand of continuance use. Because of the amount of use these tables will receive they are usually built a little less on the aesthetic end and more on the durable end. Some tables can even be equipped with metal frame and legs and with a weather proof cloth which is specifically designed for outdoor use.

On of the other features that commercial tables may come equipped with is a coin operated lever that releases the balls from the table’s interior. With this feature, players at a pool hall for example, can put a predetermined amount of coins into a slot and pull the lever. Once the coins register the balls come rolling out of the breaking end of the table. During the game when each ball is pocketed, the table retains those balls (with the exception of the different size and weight of the cue ball) throughout the remaining time of the game. In some cases, pool table dealers will offer various discounts depending on the quantity of pool tables that are requested. So depending on the needs of a prospective buyer, quality used commercial pool tables may be the best choice for the establishment.

36 Hours in Portland, Me.

PORTLAND, Me., is known for three L's: lobster, lighthouses and L. L. Bean (O.K., make that four L's). Here's another: local. In recent years, this city on the coast of Maine has welcomed a wave of locavore restaurants, urban farms and galleries that feature local artists. Abandoned brick warehouses are being repurposed as eco-friendly boutiques. In the main square, a 19th-century building has ...
